I sipped on my black coffee I had just nuked to bring back the heat but not the taste. I just needed the heat and caffeine, taste was optional. The 5 P.M. news came on. The live anchor trio said hello, cut to a long commercial about watching the 5 P.M. news, a short commercial about a product, back to a long commercial about watching 5 P.M. news then on to a commercial about Alabama Power Company. Before 8 minutes had passed two more Alabama Power Company commercials . If you are watching the 5 P.M. news why ask you three times in 2 minutes to please watch the 5 P.M. news? If you have electrical power at your house it’s Alabama Power. You have no choice other than have no electrical service so why the hell do I need Alabama Power to spend my money telling me to use Alabama Power. How many people are living under electrical lines watching television using a super high price gas consumed by a noisy generator waiting to be converted to on line power by listening to two cartoon birds sitting on a sign? Drop the commercials, lower my rate. Out back with my radio turned low, you can hear the blue’s but tune out any commercials, I move from bonsai to bonsai, much like the butterfly finding the first spring flowers. Yes the real world is out there just beyond my wood fence and much like the house mouse I will have to duck out from time to time to find food and take my chances with the powers to be. I use to enjoy my time with my bonsai. Now I find I need my time with my bonsai. I never walked out of my bonsai area feeling I had wasted my time. Joe Day
