Text Box: It’s just about time for our spring bonsai party “ The Day of Bonsai” event presented by the members of ACBS. I’ve received calls from Pensacola, Ft Walton and New Orleans bonsai artist saying they would be attending this event.
Are we ready? Yes. This is a educational event by bonsai artist for bonsai artist. We have great artist presenting the programs, the same laid back easy going format, everything in one big room, plenty of free food and drink, good vendors and a very nice display of bonsai. At the March ACBS meeting we will ask ACBS members to sign up to help, set up Friday night,

Text Box: Show up early Saturday to set up coffee and sweets, help vendors move goods, collect money at the door, serve lunch and stay a bit late to clean up.
Everyone must pay the same entrance fee, even ACBS members attending and helping must pay. All money earned from this event helps pay the ever rising ACBS expenses.
This is a day to enjoy and a day to do everything we can to be sure the bonsai artist from all our sister bonsai clubs enjoy spending the day with ACBS. Bonsai people are the best people in the world.

Text Box: Spending the day with a room full of bonsai people is a great way to start off spring and summer.
We will keep the coffee hot all day. ACBS will supply some sweets to go with the coffee. It would certainly be ok if ACBS members donated a tray of cookies, a cake to help keep the food table from looking thin as the daily events are presented. I know a slice of cake and a good cup of coffee keeps my heart beating after eating that big lunch ACBS sets out of everyone attending this event.

Text Box: Friends, neighbors and family are about as dependable as automatic watering systems. “I was going over to water you bonsai but it rained at my house so I thought it must have rained at your place.” Remember listening to that one as you dumped your dead bonsai into the trash can. Never ask more than one person to water your bonsai when you are away. If you ask two or three they all will think the other

Text Box: Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter the number one killer of bonsai is lack of water. The problem is simple, lack of water kills bonsai, the solution is not so easy. Bonsai can’t water themselves. Automatic watering systems work best when you are at home watching them. They only seem to fail when you are on vacation or away for some other-can’t help it-reason.

Text Box: one certainly did the watering . The results is no one will water, everyone will blame everyone else, you will have dead bonsai and two or 3 less people who will talk to you. If you plan to be away and tell someone you might be going away and would like them to water for you...always call them again and confirm that you will definitely be away. Bonsai people are like everyone else. They don’t actually listen to what you are saying, they just pretend well. Joe Day
