Ben Oki’s workshop the first week in January has been a ACBS tradition for about 20 years. Finding the exact year Ben first held a workshop at ACBS would take time and time is the thing I don’t have this close to Christmas.
We have had some very wet Ben Oki workshops. Some very cold workshops but we have never had a bad Ben Oki workshop.
To say Ben works with all species of trees, all sizes and all styles is an understatement. I have attended every Ben Oki workshop and I have seen everything come across the table and on to the Ben Oki turntable to be styled. Ben gave every piece of material his complete attention.
A Ben Oki workshop is one place you can be certain you will have a very enjoyable evening , learn a lot about bonsai and improve a bonsai for your collection. Think you got a better place to be on that night. Joe Day

Text Box: AT the Ben Oki Workshop
Text Box: Choose the material you will bring to work with Ben. Clean up the material. Remove all dead leaves inside the tree or in the container. Clean the pot. Be certain the tree contains no insects.

Text Box: ACBS will furnish the drinks and snacks. If you want to bring something to add to the table...please do.
The Garden Center is a great place to hold a workshop but a lousy place to hold lots of conversations at the same time

Text Box: as you are trying hear someone important talk. If you must talk to someone...Take it outside or whisper.
When the workshop is over, grab a broom, garbage can or help put the food away. It’s a week night and we need to make a quick, clean exit.
