    It’s hot, it’s humid, it’s very tropical so it’s time to study a very exciting area of bonsai, tropical bonsai. 
    All bonsai is a combination of time, talent, knowledge and hard work.  With knowledge the time, talent and hard work will get you results that creates bonsai in the shortest length of time.  Fred Morales is the ACBS Tropical Bonsai knowledge man. Fred has vast knowledge of tropical bonsai but a limited amount of time at the meeting so come prepared to ask the questions that will help you most with the tropical bonsai in your collection.  Bring your tropical bonsai if you want Fred to take a few moments with you for some great advice. You still have time to get some important work done on your tropical bonsai.

Text Box: Joe Kuhn, Joe Day and Leo Fortner had a wonderful time at the Greater New Orleans Bonsai Society , Day of Bonsai on July 16.  Great coffee and sweets were waiting inside the meeting room door. Randy Benette presented an excellent Maple Bonsai lecture, 
Text Box: The lunch was outstanding. Easy to eat too much to stay awake for the evening but the coffee was still hot. Allen Roach gave a short demo on Saunders Boxwood and gave Fred Morales credit for introducing this wonderful plant to the bonsai world. 
Text Box: Guy Guidry gave a very interesting talk on the Myths of Bonsai.  Excellent turn out of 60 to 80 people, didn’t count but the room was full. Great to see all the bonsai artist from most all bonsai societies along the  great “Gulf Coast Crescent”
