Text Box: new growth that you must water many times daily.
We have our last severe cold “usually” about mid February. That’s about 6 weeks before the last normal date of below 32 weather. This 6 weeks is our best repotting time. If you start potting now you must have some place to put your bonsai that would protect from intense cold and a place out of the sum to keep them from being pushed into

Text Box: Our gulf coast weather makes repotting early very tricky, repotting late very tricky and almost impossible to pick the absolute best time to repot.
Repotting now, you risk another very warm spell and your bonsai pushing out new growth just in time to have the new roots freeze.. Killing the bonsai.
Repot in April at the end of the chance for a freeze you risk a hot and dry spell pushing lots of

Text Box: new growth when our temps swing upward for a few day every few days. This is a lot work but if you have a large collection it might be necessary. With a smaller collection and can get soil, pots and everything else you might need read and repot near the time when the cold ends new growth begins and extreme hot is still in south Florida. The person bringing a tree to a workshop is the artist. The person giving the advice and helping is just that “ the person giving advice”. Take the advice if you feel comfortable with what you hear. Any material you bring to a workshop

Text Box: is material worth considering carefully. It main point to a workshop is to move the material further along to becoming a good bonsai.
Every species in unique and the advice about how to develop it is complex. A workshop is where you can find the information you will need for each species. Joe Day
Text Box: Workshops are complex and require a lot of time to get results. Our regular meeting start at 7 with a goal of finishing about 9 P.M. Two hours to work with and talk to 5 to 10 people about individual bonsai mean a lot has to happen quickly . The business part of the meeting has to be kept to a minimum.
